Hi Joanne- These last posts are great ideas. You may also find some inspiration from Scholastic - they have MANY professional books with games and mini reproducible books to help learn sight words. You might also | investigate materials from the "Working With Words" component of the Four Blocks model - the first grade book has suggestions of words and activities to learn to read them. (My students love to use a variety of the "cheers".) Last year our 1st grade team introduced the "100 Club". These were the first 100 words for reading as suggested by our district and to "join" the students simply | | had to read the list to us. We gave certificates and posted names for those that completed this and the kids were very motivated to become a "member"!Post again if you have more questions but I hope that helps! Trish
