team t-shirts
By Eileen Lonergan

Clip to ScrapBook
Encourage the teams to create a team name for themselves and possibly to begin the process by making themselves team shirts. Like a 2-man baseball team, with jerseys and names. This could be the their first effort together.
It could be a simple painting of their team name done in fabric paint, a collage using textiles sewn onto the shirts, or maybe a print from a simple woodcut, linoleum cut or a vegetable cut done in fabric paints. There's so many ways to create their shirts. Tassels, fringe, sequins, felt, beading, etc.

Even if you identify the manner in which they make their shirts or the media used,

I'm sure there's still plenty of room for individual or team creativity to show through. After this initial project, those team members could wear their T-shirts whenever the ENTIRE group has a project or has a get-together. The shirts would help to build connections/camraderie with younger/older students and may even create friendships between them.
