While I think you do gain a lot of experience volunteering, (I did during my first volunteering "job") I don't necessarily think it means you will struggle any more than usual when student teaching comes along. It sounds like you are already taking on a lot between college and a full time job! Maybe instead of volunteering you could just do observations every once in a while just to get out there?
