desks vs. tables
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
Funny! We had tables for two years before switching to desks. I guess you always think the grass is greener...

Anyway, when I had tables we also had chair pockets. (My mom made them for us.) Each child had a small plastic case for their crayons, pencils, glue stick, etc. Though I've seen the community supplies work very nicely, our tables were long and narrow making it difficult to share. We kept journals, textbooks, etc. in cubbies. The students kept their individual library book in their chair pocket. For a short time we didn't have chair pockets, so the kids kept their pencil box and library book on top of the table in front of their place. I really hated that.
