homework
By Karen

Clip to ScrapBook
WOW! This is interesting- my school is discussing the same thing! We see overall that homework is not getting turned in adn we are spending way too much of our instructional time hunting it down or punishing the kids or ourselves by keeping them in for recess... I really believe we are going to change our philosophy on this- we are going to give more QUALITY homework and in smaller doses. We are cutting out the busy work! We are also going to give kids opportunities to complete assignments at school with "homework buddies"- we have a population in which there isn't a lot of parent support in the homes of the kids who aren't turning it in- no sense in punishing the child further for that!
