Elmer the Elephant
By Leigh

Clip to ScrapBook
Class Quilts - zip locked bags connected together with duck tape so one can display children's quilt pieces and change the quilt easily - Got idea from www.teachers.net on the kindergarten chatboard - if it's still posted?

Mixing
colors activities - use a zip locked sandwich bag and let children mix the primary colors into secondary colors - have them mix all the colors together.

Using two paper plates. Paint them gray or pink. Fold and cut one paper plate in half = the ears to the elephant. Have the students create a truck from gray/pink construction paper and have them create eyes and put the features

on the big uncut plate and glue the ear (half plates) to each side of the plate face. Can display these elephants on a bullentin board.

Patterning - Using squares have the students create a pattern for the back of your bullentin board that looks like Elmer before he makes himself all gray to look like the other elephants.
