cattle drive
By Deanne

Clip to ScrapBook
I've done this activity a couple of times with 2nd graders. I photocopied line drawings of longhorn cattle. I split the students into a few groups or "ranches" and they came up with their own "brand" for their cattle. The children colored the cattle and drew the group's brand on them. I took the cattle and put them in a big pile in the front of the room (or they could be hidden around the room). The children raced to see which ranch could round up their cattle first. The kids had fun with it.
