I agree that parents should be concerned about the kid, but not at the expense of the teacher being treated as a human being. I have a dear friend who went into teaching to HELP KIDS. In the past three years she's been spit at, cursed out and threatened by parents at a supposedly religious school. Yes, it is appropriate to take care of the "gift", but that is no excuse to abuse another human. The profession has lost an award winning teacher. She is moving back to her old job(sales) where she felt respected and appreciated with 10,000 more per year. How sad
