I am not sure whether or not you are wanting ideas for your teaching lessons or things for the kids to do. For you: I use tons of PowerPoint, especially the interactive where as a whole class we use the TeamBoard or they| can use it at a computer station. The students can make Excel study sheets for vocabulary and spelling, by typing the words they can then make columns for ABC order and use the icons to do that as well as make columns for antonyms, synonyms. They can count the letters in the words and then add them using the icons so that you are not only teaching vocab but also learning to use Excel. | | We can also make graphic organizers with Kidspiration or using Microsoft Publisher. They really love adding the clipart or drawings that they have made. I also let them use Microsoft Word to type summaries of their stories. Obviously everyone doesn't get to do this everyday but they rotate computers with their groups and we also have 2 hours a week in the computer lab. They learned very quickly that they had to work to complete their tasks. Of course, if you wanted to use Internet you can always do Webquests or scavenger hunts. EnchantedLearning has some good hunts but it is really not too difficult to come up with your own, making it go with what you are studying. [I teach 3rd grade.] Hope this will help you.
