Clip to ScrapBook
Two that I can think of off the top of my head would be very easy to prepare. Just make one gameboard for each on a piece of 8 1/2x11" paper and copy. The first is Black Hole. Make a sort of grid (about 6x6) with large
blocks. In most boxes, you'll put a 1 or 2 digit #. In some blocks, and in various places outside the grid, you'll make a black circle and write "black hole." Students put a chip on a circle marked start and use their pencil like a pool cue to push it. Each player starts with 200 pts. Whatever # they land on is subtracted from 200. Black hole means lose a turn. The first player to
get under 100 wins.
Another one is "exact change" My game board has a piggy bank outline. Inside are 17 circles. Both players get 8 markers (cubes, paper squares, etc) of their color. They take turns placing them on the board, adding to their total each time and trying to reach $1.00 and preventing their opponent from making $1.00.
Obviously, these can easily be customized.
Another favorite is multiplication "war", a variation on the regular card game, but each player turns over 2 cards at a time and finds the product. The highest product gets the cards. A tie leads to war.
I have lots, but these are a few that they really like and are easy to prepare.
