We use DRA at least 2x per year, fall and spring. Some schools in our district do it each 9 weeks. It is such a great tool to measure gains so I can't imagine being limited to what level you can test up to per grade level. It seems as though that kind of defeats much of the purpose behind DRA. There is a second set of stories for each level that we use when needed.
