Pencils

I gave all of the children a mini sharpener for their desk at the beginning of the year as part of their welcome package. Then I also left about 6 of these in a dish by my desk. It's a much quieter alternative and doesn't interrupt others when they use these. Plus I find that it's always the SAME children losing their pencils - so I make sure I write their names on the pencils I give them or MY name to make sure the pencil is returned. I also have a "treasure Chest" which is like a good work box with fancy pencils, erasers and sharpeners. On different occasions they can choose a "prize" out of the treasure chest. This replenishes their stock of pencils.
