Hey! Don't worry, you are not the only one out there! I am 21 and LOVE children's novels. I just got my first teaching job and when asked, "What was the last book you read?" I had to chuckle because it was Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. By the way, read that one. Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry is good, and also Squashed (can't remember the author). Stargirl and GB are my favorites though. Artemis Fowl books are humorous and like a defunked Harry Potter book. They are big too, so they would take you a while. Hope this helps.
