out side my classroom... management By Sue

| I understand where you are coming from. This used to be a big problem at my school until the administration devised a plan to curb the problem. It was decided that all students would adhere to a common practice of walking a certain way down the halls, quietly, hands behind backs, and in a straight line. These procedures were given to the teachers at the beginning of the school year. Practice, practice, practice and more practice was encouraged. Not only did most of the teachers comply but so did the students. Now our hallways are quiet and students are well behaved. A school-wide plan makes all the difference for both the staff and the students. Everyone knows what is expected and most are eager to show they have what it takes to be a team player.
