DRA
By Zoe

Clip to ScrapBook
We also use DRA's in our school. I really like that we have concrete information for the parents. We can show them where the child was, should be at the present time and where they will hopefuly be at the end of the year.
Our district has specific guidelines as to where each grade level should be reading. If your school does not have them for you, you can always pick a specific passage and do a running record yourself. Any guided reading book will work. You just need to count all of the words. Take the number of words the student got right and divide that number by the total number of words in the
passage. This will give you the precentage of correct words. You want 94% correct before you move to the next level. I hope this makes sense to you. If you have questions just ask.
