third grade

Clip to ScrapBook
This was my first year teaching third grade. I basically followed a daily routine. WHen the students first came in I had them complete about 15-20 mins. of "morning work" (journal entries, math problems, worksheets). This is good becuase it helps them get into a routine and allows me to grade any homeowrk that comes in or take lunch/attendance count. The morning also consisted of language arts, writing, reading and spelling. I set aside the afternoon for math, social studies and science. I did alot of projects and writing assignments. They loved hands on projects (dioramas, posters) and story writing that they could share with each other. We also completed one book report every month. It really depends on the group of students. I hope this helps!
