You can also take a digital camera along on your walk and take pictures of various children standing in front of, behind, next to, to the right, to the left... of each item they see. Then you can make a class book about your Geometry walk and put sentences on each page. Example: Susie is standing to the left of the flag. The flag is a rectangle. You can make the book fill in the blank to make it more interactive. We have done both of these activities with first and second graders and they loved it.
