Teaching your own child
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
I've taught for 27 years and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to teach all 3 of my girls during their elementary years. My husband is in education also, administrator and coach, so our life revolves around school.
If you are comfortable with your teaching style and have positive results...sounds like you do...then why shouldn't your child benefit from your experience. As teachers we happily give and give to others....if possible why shouldn't our own children receive the same? You do have to deal with the "they are getting special treatment" from some people. But...you have control over that....don't
do anything in class for your child that you wouldn't do for another student. I taught my children in grades 1, 4, and 6. During those years, Dad took care of any homework, so that they didn't have any kind of edge??? We have wonderful memories of those years...wouldn't trade them. Good luck!
