One thing that works for my kids in helping them keep planners updated is stamping them. At the end of each day, I stamp the column with that day's assignments written. At the end of the week, any student who has five stamps and has not missed one homework assignment is eligible to win a prize from my prize basket. I draw three names each week. The prizes are small but the kids really get excited about the drawing each Friday.
