Open Court

1st grade Open Court is mainly phonics/phonemic awareness in the beginning.. Be prepared to have your sound/spelling cards ready. Also, try to be prepared with activities that support learning all letter sounds. Each letter has a story that goes with it- related to the picture on the Sound/Spelling card. It can be tedious, but you will definitely see the kids getting it. Good luck.
