Don't let them intimidate you...
By BuzyBee

Clip to ScrapBook
Tracy: Don't let them make you feel that way! You are here, on the internet, looking for great ideas! That alone shows that you care and want to do well! They are probably just afraid that you are going to do a better
job!

Anyway, enough said about that, I teach Missouri History, but thought maybe this idea would help you to. In this era of standardized testing, I am going to keep portflios in MO History this year. I am going to call them "Passports to Missouri." The first week of school I am going to take all of the kids photos and print them to put on the front of their portfolios with an information

sheet. The journals will serve as a portfolio to include maps, letters, drawings, and journal entries. This will really help me tie into language arts and be great to whip out during conferences to share with parents.

Also, you could put a huge timeline across the front of your room and give someone each week the job of "Historian." Everytime you cover a new important event in California History, have the student post it on the timeline.

Hope this helps, and stay confident, positive, and smile! You'll be great!
