why tell?

Why do you need to tell them this is your first year? I wouldn't and didn't. You don't want to give them the opportunity to question everything you do. You can get a lot of "the teacher last year didn't do it that way.." anyway so just keep it to yourself. Of course if they ask be honest but I have never been asked about my experience from a parent- they usually assume you know what you're doing.
