Dollars By Brooke

I have saw this done while I was a practicum student. Each student had a slip of paper that had the numbers 1 2 3 printed on it. If the student broke a rule then the teacher would "take a number" ( cross through the number| and write what the student did). If the student still had all 3 numbers at the end of the day then the student would receive a dollar. Each student had a little pocket that they used to store their dollars in. They were responsible for keeping up with their dollars. The teacher would have a shopping day about every 4-6 weeks. The items would be placed in different bins. There was |
| a $5,$10, $15, and $20 bin. The students could buy whatever they would like as long as they had enough money. They did not have to spend all of their money at once. They could save it for the next shopping opportunity. A parent volunteer would be in charge of the store. It would take about 30 minutes for all of the students to shop. The students also could earn dollars for doing special errands, or good deeds. I hope this makes sense. If not just let me know and I will try to explain better. I plan to use the dollar system next year.
