developing fear
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I have two children of my own. I believe in teaching safety procedures to children, but I don't believe in hyping them so much that they develop fear in the children.

We, too, have some programs in school which teach children about stranger danger, good touch/bad touch, drug use, etc. I think it's important for children to realize that just because they are children they don't have to do everything adults ask them to do just because they're adults and SHOULD know better. If they think adult acts and words are immoral, they should be trained to react appropriately to those acts and words.
