I Know your Disappointment :(
By GM

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Georgia Peach:

Your story is a good example of the old adage: Life holds no guarantees. So many have been lured into the profession because they thought that fullfilling their dreams of becoming a teacher would be
'easy' in terms of getting a job right away.

I'm 48. I got my first teaching position at 45. Had such a terrible time that year, I resigned. I had convinced myself that teaching was not for me. After a while, I started to sub again. I now part-time teach. I was hoping that this upcoming year I could obtain a full-time position. But like you and so many others have learned, there

are no positions to apply for. It is frustrating to say the least.

However, even though it's terribly challenging at times to stay positive, I do (most of the time). This upcoming school year, I'm most likely NOT going to teach full time; I'll continue to teach part time; but I have high hopes that I will teach full time the year after next. Somehow, some way you must find a way to keep your dreams alive. I hope you find yours.

You have lived long enough to realize that challenging times can make you wiser, stronger and more determined to pursue what your heart dictates.

Keep the Faith! GM
