Points
By CC

Clip to ScrapBook
When I used AR last year I varied the points a little. The first thing I did was look at the children's reading level. If they were a 1.9 then having them read 25 points in a 6 week time frame would be unreachable but if they were a 4.2 then they could easily reach it. So that is the first thing i would do. Then I looked at the avareage points for a book in their level. Then I set a goal with the student. Then each quarter or time frame I would sit down and ask the student if they were able to reach their goal, if it was hard/easy, and do you want to go up or down. I rarely had kids who wanted to go down. I hope this helped.
