The Westing Game
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
No offense to Ms. Burtha, but I'm inclined to think a student wrote that post. If I'm wrong, I apologize. To all the teachers interested in that book - I read it with my 5th graders and they thought it was great! There were a few that were having a hard time understanding it as we read it, but since we talked about it everyday and read it together, I think it helped. They kept a notebook to keep the characters straight, and did a prediction everyday to decide who the "murderer" was. It was our first attempt at a mystery and it really encouraged some of them to try that genre now. We also did a "puzzle" bulletin board afterwards that I thought turned out cute - and the kids had fun doing it.
