mutism
By Christy

Clip to ScrapBook
I was just talking to our psychologist about this. She told me a story. She lived next door to an elementary school where she worked. A child in the kindergarten class was selectively mute. One day the psychologist's dog got out and ran into the opened doors of the school building and into the kindergarten class. Low and behold the child began talking. That's all it took. Have you thought of a class pet of some sort? It's a lot of responsibility but would be worth a try. The mother of the child who is selectively mute would probably have wonderful ideas also. Good luck to both of you!!
