    My first thought is where you use drops of paint (use the shiny craft type, for really pretty results) in the crease of a piece of paper. When you close it and open it back up, it creates wonderful designs - and they usually look like butterflies (although, not guaranteed, so you'd have to practice on a few to see how to get them to come out that way). Then while the paint is drying, the kids can create poems that go along with what you are reading - or pretending they are butterflies, etc... You can glue the writing under the butterflies to make a nice hall display!
