I agree with you on the difficulty of hearing the teacher's name. In our county, I understand the sub computer system is considered "old" by current standards of automated technology.

My biggest complaint is teachers who,
although there is a place for them to do so at the end of the job offer, don't leave information regarding early morning yard duty, or after school duty. This means that I arrive at the school site and am told I should be out on the black top *now*, then have no time to review the lesson plans before class begins. Agh!

After school "surprise" duty is no better as I often have appointments

after school and have to either cancel them, reschedule, or show up late.

Knowing about duty beforehand gives me the option of taking or declining the job confidently.
