teaching "Olden Days"
By Ingrid

Clip to ScrapBook
I love this one. I teach K-1. I realized that "Olden Days" is simply a matter of history. So I called on all my parents to dig up pictures of their parents, grandparents, etc. Also asked them if they had any heirlooms, favorite toys from their childhood, etc. The project took on a life of its own, as parents started getting involved, and they began to fondly remember their own childhood. This approach actually spawned a few families to research their roots.

Give this one to the parents. Should be easy sailing after that. Good luck
