spring

Clip to ScrapBook
I love the first day of spring (can't wait until Friday!!!)

Some great season books to celebrate the first day of spring - My mama had a dancing heart, she shared that heart with me

and The First Forest

They are
both beautiful heartfelt stories for children.

I play vivaldi's four seasons - spring of course , give the kids butterfly wings and drape toule (sp) over tree branches outside. I weave (or you can buy) grape vine wreaths for the children to wear on their heads. They weave flowers into them. (i have a grape vine in my backyard = so i cut it in the spring and weave small wreaths for

their heads - sometimes the kids weave them too.) They dance with the wings and spring halos, wear the butterfly wings and celebrate spring. WE might dig a little in our class garden and we investigate for signs of spring. The children draw or water color paint signs of spring they see. We also keep a nature garden jounral and draw signs of our garden in different seasons.

We also have a seasons table in the room. I sew little spring fairy dolls - the kids make some too - and we add signs of spring on the table.
