Master's degree
By Sari

Clip to ScrapBook
Although it can be true that districts want to hire lower on the salary schedule, I think having my MA helped me get my first teaching position. My state at the time (CA) required a fifth year, and I chose a program that led to both certification and a Master's (Columbia Teachers College). Schools want to hire the people who best meet their needs, and someone with a Master's degree may be the best fit. Do what you think is best for you.
