Yes it can happen!
By Ally

Clip to ScrapBook
I had two really good university supervisors when I started my program and my first practicum was excellent...we did it in partners and I liked both the co-operating teacher and my partner. Then I took two semesters off
to have my baby and when I returned, I was not as keen on my university supervisor but again the co-op teacher for my long practicum was excellent. And looking back on the experience, the main reason I was not as keen on the university supervisor, was he was very challenging. Challenged my thoughts and ideas all the time and I found it threatening...but now I think he was just trying to
get me to think!

I would like to believe that most mentors are helpful...they may not be "rah rah rah" all the time (like I was expecting) but constructive critisism will help make us better teachers. Good luck with your placements!
