Question
By Cynthia

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a question I was asked during a few of my interviews: Think about a teacher who had a positive effect on you as a child. Tell me about the qualities that teacher possessed and do you feel you have these same qualities?

Also, do you take along a portfolio? My portfolio has my management plan, examples of communication with parents, the qualities I possess as a teacher, etc. This way when I am asked these questions I can refer to my portfolio.

Before I found the position I have now, I wondered what I was doing wrong. When I look back at the interviews, I don't think that it was me. I feel

the principals already had a person in mind and they were just interviewing others because they had to. I had an interview for a long term sub position in which my sister in law who was already a teacher in the district refered me. There was a person who interviewed right before me and she was in there for at least 45 minutes. I thought for sure she had the job. My interview lasted 15 minutes. 10 minutes after the interview they called me and gave me the position. I had the same feeling when I interviewed for the permenant position I just received.
