It is hard to give up the control. I had a student teacher when I was 39 and pregnant with my third child and due in June. It was a blessing. By the last few weeks- I played the role of the aide for her and she did the teaching. I can't describe the feeling I had working in that capacity. It was like a weight was lifted with no plans to make and no papers to grade but just helping the kids when they needed it. She was great at keeping control of the class so even discipline was not a problem. By the end of the school year someone new and fresh was great for the students.
