K4 is very different from 'preschool'

I hope most K4 teacher's agree with me, that K4 is usually not preschool.

Most K4 classes are what Kindergarten used to be, but even more academic than that.

My K4 class is only half day, (actually only 3 hours) we do not have 'centers' or 'circle time'. My students have assigned seats at tables and learn in a more structured way than preschools.

My students are also prescreened for readiness. These are the children that are almost ready for K but not quite ready to go all day .

I hope I see more posts on the K4 board soon.

K4 is sort of an odd duck I guess, not everyone sees it the same way.
