Fraction Kits
By Sabrina

Clip to ScrapBook
I have my kids each make their own fraction kits. I cut 5 different colors of construction paper (the big kind) into stips lengthwise (you can make 4 strips from each piece of paper). Each child gets one of each color.

Have them lable the first 1/1. Divide, cut and label the next into 1/2. Divide, cut and lable the next 1/4, then 1/8, then 1/16.

You can then have them put 1/4 on their desk and ask how many 16's it takes to equal 1/4. You can also you fraction kits to compare and order fractions
