Be sure to get a copy of the IEP and read it over carefully. Look for how many minutes the student is supposed to receive services per week and in what location. It could say in the regular ed. classrom rather than in a resource room. Also, look to see what areas the child qualified for services. Even though he or she may be below in reading, it may only say math. Try buddy reading, maybe there is a volunteer who can help. Just a few thoughts...
