CBE By Carolyn in Fox

I was not at all impressed with CBE which is why I am now teaching in Northern Alberta. While I was attending U of C, I worked as a temp special needs TA. When I was first hired my paperwork was lost, then it was posted that I was working when I was not. I was unimpressed at the time needed money badly. I will be honest, things did improve once they had someone coordinating the TA desk. What turned me off them, is that after toiling as a TA for almost a year, when I was ready to graduate and rather then allowing me to sub teach in May - they were going to make me wait till Sept. I was so anoyed with | | them - dont know if I was not good enough to suit them or it was cause there was a shortage of special ed TA's and they wanted me working where I was. I was able to sub teach for Rocky View in May and at the end of the month took the job here. I have spoke with many others who dont have much good to say about CBE either, and I hope to never be in the position to come back there to work. I love Calgary - but will retire there. I hope that someday when teachers retire they have problems getting teachers based on how they have treated us over the years.
