cause and effect
By Cheryl

Clip to ScrapBook
I have read Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible... to teach this. There are so many situations in the book that it lends itself nicely to this. I then have had the students create their own situation by dividing a paper in half- one side what happened (effect) , the other why (cause). They like doing these and sharing them.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and the other books like them also lend themselves to this.

Good Luck,
Cheryl
