bad school? By Connie

Hi, I have lots of experience and I feel the same frustrations. Personally, I don't do centers and I also teach first. I notice that the more experienced teachers who have better control and better results DON'T do | centers. I also don't do much rewarding for behavior with systems. As you have said, consequences don't mean much to some. Causing a ruckus seems to be worth missing 15 mins. at recess to some. I use the Love and Logic approach by Jim Fay. It saves my sanity and makes teaching more fun. I haven't seen any system of rewards that works great, but I'm always interested. Any | | ideas? Just keep your focus on the sweeties or you will drive yourself crazy. We have all been there and sorry, it doesn't get a whole bunch easier. Connie
