file folder games

Clip to ScrapBook
You should be able to find books at your "teacher store". I have found File Folder Games by Carson Dellosa for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. One book for each grade. I prefer to use the 2nd grade book at the beginning of the
year and move to the third grade towards the end. They have ideas for both math and reading. They do take some time. I copy mine on oaktag then color and laminate. But my kids love them. I try to color one new one a week for them. That way there is always something new. I also found file folder games for math published by scholastic. I tape a ziploc baggy on the back of the folder to hold
the pieces and an answer key. Thye have to "sign out" each game that way they can't do the same one over and over and over again. I also write the number of pieces the game has on the back of the folder. I had a problem with missing pieces so I have each student count game pieces before starting the activity to make sure they are all there and count again before replacing it. I hope this helps.
