Problem Student
By Moe

Clip to ScrapBook
My suggestion would be to have a meeting with mom and ALL the people who have had contact with this child (previous teachers, art, music, church school, counselors, etc.) Chances are Mom is telling the people at church that
he is not having difficulties in school. By putting all of the adults who care about him in one room together, maybe Mom will finally realize how many people are trying to help him, and she'll have to be honest about the issues. Be careful not to make her feel like everyone is "ganging up" on her, but instead try to make her realize that by working as a team you can all start getting
this child back on track. From what you say about his past history it does sound like he has some very deep rooted issues, so try to also include your school psychologist in the meeting. Good luck!
