2nd is the best

Hi Angie,
I went from K to 2nd with 2 stops inbetween. 2nd is just perfect. They are eager to learn new things, are still open minds, and haven't honed the art of being fresh.
I love teaching the subjects in 2nd.
Add and Sub with regrouping is challenging, but very rewarding when the "get it". Their reading levels can be low, low, to high, high. The rewards with both ends and the middles are great. You can see every day where you want the low/middle ones to be at in the faces of the 4 or 5 upper readers.
Math and Reading/ Writing....not much time for anything else. This may seem odd, but I love

teaching cursive. It is so important (research shows) when writing, to be able to form the letters correctly and with ease. It makes the writing of ideas less of a chore.
I could go on....but you get the idea.
