math ideas

Clip to ScrapBook
Have you ever heard of a game called "Around the World"? The kids love this game and it's a great way to get them to learn their facts. To play you need a pack of multiplication flash cards. To start, have two students stand up next to one another, show them a flash card, the first student to shout out the correct answer moves on to the next student, the one who is incorrect sits down. The person who is right keeps going till they miss and sit in chair of the person who beat them. The object of the game is to "travel" around the room and get back to their seat by getting the math facts right. The one to get back to his/her seat gets some kind of reward. Every year my class loves to play this game.
