Your message brought me a true smile. It sounds to me like you are a lucky teacher, having that class, having known the child that you will miss, even if for only part of a year, and recognizing that you do personally care about the children you deal with day to day. It is a bittersweet pleasure. They are "yours" for a short time. It also sounds like you have a lucky class. We all want to be appreciated and I am sure your class feels that from you.
