Respect
By Rusty

Clip to ScrapBook
I too teach fifth grade this is what I do. I have four rules for my classroom. Rule number 2 is respect others and thier property. I told my students that they didn't have to like one another, but they had to be respectful to one another. I explain to them that means no name calling, gossiping or other forms of meanness to each other. I also add that all students need to mine their manners. I have a zero tolerance for the breaking of this rule. On a whole it rarly gets broken and when it does I talk to the child or give him or her silent lunch. If the child becomes a repeat offender a phone call home always fixes the problem. I hope this helps some.
