Clip to ScrapBook
I have to correct everything they do! I think it's only right. What helps is that they don't have so many written assignments. In math let groups work together on one sheet or on slates. Give the group a grade. For Social
Studies and Science, everyone has a folder (folded construction paper). When they complete assignments they go in the folder. At the end of the unit, I check the whole folder. This is time consuming, but it's a one time thing once or twice a month. Even though all homework assignment grade don't go in the book, I think they should be checked so students know they are important. If you
have a good parent, an aide or older students, let them check the homework and put a smiley face if it's good and a check mark if they didn't reach a certain percent. Then you can see at a glance who is getting the concept. For homework, I just make a mark in my book that they did it.
