Regroup the Saxon Way
By NY Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
I've been using Saxon Math for 3 years now. They teach regrouping with pennies and dimes. They spend about 2 lessons on just exchanging a bunch of pennies for pennies and dimes. After 2 or 3 lessons the kids 'get it'. (Well, at least most of them do!) From there we teach the basic algorithm.

Hope this helps!
